Rlys makes Rs 2.5cr from ticket checking drive in Feb
Ludhiana: The ticket checking team of the Ferozepur division has intensified its continuous drive to curb unauthorised travel and enforce railway discipline. During a month-long campaign in February 2026, the division's ticket checking staff and chief ticket inspectors generated a total revenue of ₹2.5 crore, marking a 29% increase over the ₹1.9 crore earned in February 2025.Ludhiana emerged as a major contributor to this recovery, accounting for ₹95 lakh, while ₹38 lakh was collected from the Amritsar station area. This performance has pushed the division's revenue 3% above the annual target set by headquarters for the current financial year through February.
In total, 36,282 cases were processed during the month, covering offenses such as ticketless travel, irregular travel, unbooked luggage, smoking, and violations of anti-littering laws. To promote station cleanliness and discourage public littering, regular inspections were conducted at major stations. These efforts resulted in 344 passengers being fined more than ₹57,000 under the Anti-Littering Act.Divisional railway manager Sanjeev Kumar stated that the Ferozepur Division is committed to these continuous campaigns to ensure passengers travel with valid tickets, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to all railway regulations.Senior divisional commercial manager Paramdeep Singh Saini attributed the achievement to the dedication and active efforts of the ticket-checking staff.
