Rain gives little respite from sweltering weather

Ludhiana: There was no respite from the sweltering heat even as it rained in the city on Thursday.While, the sky remained cloudy in the morning and evening, many areas of the city witnessed rainfall in the afternoon. As per the weatherman, Ludhiana witnessed 28.6mm rainfall between 8.30am on Wednesday to 8.30 am on Thursday.However, the rainfall didn’t seem to have much impact on the maximum (day) temperature as it was recorded at 35.3 degrees Celsius, which was 2.8 degrees above normal and 1.4 degrees more than a day before.As per met department, minimum (night) temperature was 27.3 degrees Celsius, which is 3.9 degrees above normal and 0.4 degree less than the previous day.Meanwhile, the Met department predicted weather disturbance for the next few days.The Met department officials said that the city was likely to witness “partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers” on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They suggested that both day and night temperatures were expected to fall slightly in coming days. The day temperature is expected to fall to 33 degrees by Tuesday whereas the night temperature might decrease to 25 degrees by Monday.Meanwhile, the residents got no respite from the hot conditions despite rainfall in the city.

Fresh spell of rain in Delhi, maximum temperature settles at 32 degrees Celsius

Delhi experienced rainfall on Saturday, providing relief from the heat. The maximum temperature was 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 23.2 degrees Celsius. The city received 10mm of rainfall in a 24-hour period. The forecast for Sunday predicts overcast skies with the possibility of light rain or drizzle. An additional weather station has been installed near Pragati Maidan to provide specialized weather forecasts for the G20 Summit.

At 43.5 degree Celsius, Jaisalmer sees hottest September day recorded

Jaisalmer, in western Rajasthan, experienced its hottest September day on record with a temperature of 43.5 degrees Celsius. The previous highest temperature for September was recorded in 1949. The hot weather is attributed to an anti-cyclonic circulation over the region, which pushes hot air downwards and raises temperatures. Meanwhile, other parts of the state experienced pleasant weather with scattered showers. The meteorological office predicts partially cloudy conditions across the state, with a chance of mild showers in certain areas.

Delhi weather: Cloudy sky with light rain forecast for Thursday

The weather office in Delhi has predicted a cloudy sky with light rain for Thursday. On Wednesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above the average for this season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than the season's average. The relative humidity was 91% in the morning and 67% in the evening.
