LUDHIANA: Ludhiana deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday offered to be the first one to get vaccinated for
Covid-19
vaccine for the second phase that is expected to start from Wednesday.
He said that in the second phase, all frontline workers from revenue, police and sanitation and other government departments in Punjab would be administered the first dose of vaccine.
Till date, around 20,000 frontline workers have got themselves registered on the government portal.
A meeting of District Task Force — regarding Covid-19 — vaccination was held at Bachat Bhawan which was attended by ADC (D) Sandeep Kumar, joint commissioner of police J Elanchezhian, civil surgeon Dr Sukhjeevan Kakkar, district immunisation officer Dr Kiran, Dr Bishav Mohan from DMCH, besides representatives of all prominent private hospitals.
