Giving details on Thursday, SSP Khanna, Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said that as part of the special campaign against the Gangsters and Drug Traffickers, a police party of Doraha police had set up a check post near FCI Godown on G.T Road in Doraha after receiving secret tip off that Lovejit and Jobanpreet are coming with illegal weapons from Khanna to Ludhiana side in taxi car (
Maruti Swift
model) bearing registration number DL-1-ZB-7328. He added that tip off suggested that the accused can be apprehended with huge quantity illegal arms and ammunition.
Police officer said that the police party saw the car coming and asked the driver to stop vehicle at the check post. He added that the accused were identified and after frisking the bag of the accused 7 Pistols .32 bore, 1 Pistol .30 bore along with 12 Magazines were recovered from the possession of Lovepreet Singh and Jobanpreet Singh.
Police said that a Case under sections of Arms Act was registered against the accused persons at Doraha police station. It added that during initial investigation It has come to light that accused were in touch with
