LUDHIANA: An elderly woman and her daughter-in-law were injured after miscreants pushed them and snatched their purse while they were riding a scooter in Sihala village near Samrala on Monday.
The elderly woman was identified as Daljit Kaur of Sihala village whereas her daughter-in-law was identified Manveer Kaur.
Daljit Kaur said that she along with her daughter-in-law had gone to Samrala market to buy household goods and they went to buy Pizza at a shop. She added that the persons were standing outside with their face covered. They came out between 2 and 2.30 pm and started following us from there, she said.
Elderly woman said that they don’t know about it and on the road near a bank, at some distance, unidentified motorcycle borne persons kicked their scooter and knocked it down.
She added that as they fell down, she suffered injuries in her head and her daughter-in-law also got multiple injuries.
The victim said that her daughter-in-law ran after the duo but they ran away with the purse which was hanging at the front of scooty.
She added that the purse contained Rs.7,000, two gold rings, bank cards, passport and other important documents and absconded.
