LUDHIANA: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal visited the family of deceased Akali veteran leader and senior vice president of the party Amarjit Singh Bhatia (74), who had passed away at a private hospital in Ludhiana yesterday. Parkash Singh Badal termed it as his personal loss and said that the party is standing rock solid with the family.
The Chief Minister described Bhatia as a dedicated, honest and disciplined soldier of the Shiromani Akali Dal who worked relentlessly to strengthen the party at grass roots level.
Terming it as a personal loss, Mr. Badal recalled the supreme services rendered by Bhatia for the well-being of all sections of the society especially the down trodden.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, Bhatia's wife Surjit Kaur, a municipal councillor, and son Rajinder Singh, a Youth Akali Dal leader, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this huge lose in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, his advisor Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon, former ministers Mr Hira Singh Gabria and Jagdish Singh Garcha, besides several others.
