LUDHIANA: Theatre lovers of Ludhiana was delighted by Hindi play "Bus Itna Sa Khawab," organized by Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam at Guru Nanak Bhawan on Saturday night. Shifaali Shah and Kiran Karmarkar in the main cast were highly admired by the audience. Roles of Adhir Bhat and Abir Brar were also appreciated.
The Hindi play, about the desire of a married woman for having a child, was written by Prashant Gadbe and direction was handled by Vipul Shah.
Story of the play revolves around Shalu (Shifaali Shah) and Abhimanyu Singh (Kiran Karmarkar). The writer presented a different plot of infertile mother and her imaginary son. After marriage with Abhimanyu, when Shalu came to know that in her entire life she was never blessed with a child, she created an imaginary world in which she pretends that she is having a son named Mohit. But her son is an illusion for every one and even Shalu's husband never saw his son. But for the sake of wife, he pretends to believe that they have a son in their home.
Later, Abhimanyu's friend Samir, along with his wife Aparna, comes to their house. Samir notices that Shalu lives in her imaginary world with her imaginary son. A psychologist himself, Samir feels that Shalu is mentally as well as psychologically ill.
He also realizes that she is suffering from a serious health problem. Samir discusses the whole matter with Abhimanyu and asks him to cooperate with him so that they can remove the blind faith of Shalu. Finally, Samir and Abhimanyu "kills" the imaginary son of Shalu. Ridhima, a city resident, said the play was wonderful and well-fabricated with an important message for the society.
