Ludhiana: Monika Choudhary, alumna of the Department of Food and Nutrition, College of Home Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has been conferred with “Nestlé Research Award” in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of nutrition with focus on public health relevance. She is presently working as Assistant Professor at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur. The award was bestowed upon her for her Ph.D publication titled "Development of rice bran oil blends for quality improvement,” published in the journal “Food Chemistry” having NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences) rating 9.26 and impact factor 3.33 (Thompson Reuters). The award, carrying a cash prize of 2.5 lakh INR, was presented to her during the Nestlé Research Awards and Grants Event, held at Research and Development Centre, Gurgaon.
Baldev Singh Dhillon, vice-chancellor, PAU and Dr G K Sangha, Dean, College of Home Science appreciated the research work of Dr Choudhary and congratulated her for this achievement. They also lauded the efforts of her mentor.
