Ludhiana: To develop literary skills among the students, Punjab Agricultural University’s extension education department organised a poetic symposium on Monday here under the guidance of department head Kuldeep Singh.
PAU Communication Centre associate director for public relations Nirmal Singh Jaura, who is also an artist, was chief guest. He said: “Poetry is not merely an intellectual pursuit.
It inspires and inculcates noble ideas in the minds of the people.” In her welcome address, extension scientist Kamalpreet Kaur called for more similar programems to promote local talent. The poems were recited in three languages—Punjabi, Hindi and English—by Khushkaran (Punjabi), Binaypartap (Punjabi), Sahil (Punjabi), Ramneek (Punjabi), and Sunnyrudh (English). Teachers Manmeet Kaur and
Pankaj Kumar also recited their poems.
