PATIALA: Showing on let up in fight against crime, the Patiala police on Monday morning carried out raids in Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan and arrested a murder accused, who had so far been evading arrests.

Patiala senior superintendent of police Mandeep Singh Sidhu said Pawan Kumar alias Pannu was arrested from Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan on Monday morning.

He was wanted in murder case registered at Anaj Mandi police station at Patiala under Sections 302, 148, 149, 506 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act on May 22, this year, after which he had been absonding. He had been accused of murdering one Shamsher Singh .

Various police teams were working under the supervision of Saruv Jindal DSP City 2 Patiala with assistance of crime investigating agency (CIA) Patiala, which finally managed to trace Pannu to Hanumangarh.

On Monday morning, a police team raided his hideout and nabbed him during the wee hours.
