Ludhiana: My Family Farmer, a city based NGO on Sunday held a workshop and exhibition on organic farming at Lodhi Club here to celebrate World Health Day. Various organic products of six farmers were put on display here workshops were conducted by three doctors and specialists to promote organic farming.
Deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik and civil surgeon Dr Hitendar Kaur presided over as chief guests at the event.
At the workshop, farmers were told about effects of pesticides in newborns, besides relevance of seasonal and natural vegetables that grow as per needs of our body and climate. Organic farmers including Surinder Singh from Ganganagar, Nawroop Singh from Fazilka and Rupinder Kaur from Pakhowal, apart from home chefs Rooh Chowdhury and Teena Gupta, displayed their products. tnn
