LUDHIANA: On the lookout for the 'next Dharamendra from the city', a team of New York Film Academy (NYFA) was Ludhiana on Thursday. Though their visit made those with tinseltown dreams happy, the academy members' announcement that the workshop would be in New Delhi left them disappointed.
The workshop would be from October 1 ? October 29 and provide hands-on training in film making and acting.

The NYFA officials would start their campaign to search for the talent from Tuesday. They claimed that many film personalities have sent their family members to study in the academy. These include Steven Spielberg, Al Pacino, Robert Downey Jr, Jamie Foxx, Jodie Foster, Kevin Kline, Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon, and Bono of U2, they said.
Bollywood actor Imran Khan has also attended classes at NYFA, said South City resident Radhika Jaitwani.
"I was excited to hear that the academy members would be in Ludhiana. I wanted to enrol my son Karan in the course. But to my disappointment, the workshop will be in Delhi,'' Jaitwani said.
A former student of NYFA who was in the city, Suniti Ghoshal, said, "The workshop comprises shoots on a daily basis, giving practical insights to every theory.''
Academy director Jerry Sherlock said, "We have run workshops in over nine countries. Our faculty has been travelling to various parts of the world, imparting the best in class film training with the latest cameras and film equipment. India has been a country that produces the maximum number of films and there is a huge demand from film students to learn the best and most modern methods of film making.''
