Noor-e-Sahir award for Waheeda Rehman

Ludhiana: City-based Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust (NSKT) on Wednesday announced it was organising a musical drama Sahir-Kahaan Ho Tum to celebrate the life, poetry and songs of legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi, in association with Ibaadat Foundation, New Delhi. Scheduled on March 8 at Guru Nanak Dev Bhavan in Ludhiana, the cultural event will feature widely-acclaimed singers, which includes Supriya Joshi, Sarvesh Mishra, Anand Bahal, Naveen Anand, and Nimrata Sharma, along with a panel discussion.

The event will be followed by an award ceremony where veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman will be honoured with the first Noor-e-Sahir Award, instituted by the trust in the fond memory of Sahir Ludhianvi. The award will be presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of art and culture.

“We are pleased to organize Sahir-Kahaan Ho Tum, which is our tribute to the legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi. Through the event, we aim to not only celebrate Sahir Ludhianvi’s works, but also promise an enjoyable evening to the audience,” said Sunil Gupta, vice-president of NSKT.
