Nankana incident: Protests in Bathinda, Mansa
Bathinda: Taking note of the attack on revered Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan by some members of the Muslim community, Shiv Sena Hind on Saturday staged a protest and burnt the effigy of the Pakistan government in Bathinda. The party termed the incident as highly condemnable. A protest was also held at Mansa where some Hindu organisations assailed the incident and also raised voice in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Shiv Sena Hind vice president Shiv Joshi said that it was unfortunate that some Muslims were allowed to attack the sacred gurdwara that was the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev and the attackers not only threatened to change the name of the gurdwara and the town, but also threatened to cause damage. “We urge the Government of India and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s friend Navjot Singh Sidhu to raise the matter and ensure safety of the Sikh brothers at Nankana Sahib as after the incident the Sikhs are feeling unsafe.”
Various organisations at Mansa hailed the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for enacting the CAA and said no Indian should be worried about the Act.
