LUDHIANA: Residents reeling under humid conditions for the past few days heaved a sign of relief as the sky opened up on Tuesday night. Though Sun shined in the morning, clouds covered the sky again in afternoon. Good news is that people can expect low temperature in the next two days.
Wet roads greeted the people on Wednesday morning as they stepped out of homes to carry on their day-today life.

It was a pleasant morning after a week-long sweltering heat and humidity. It drizzled on Sunday but that did not lower the temperature. Instead, it had increased humidity in the atmosphere.
K K Gill of PAU said, "The rain has brought down the temperature. The city has registered 7.8 milimeter rain during the past 24 hours. We are expecting more rain on Thursday and Friday. It will lower the temperature as well as humidity further."
"These are the real colours of monsoon, which we can enjoy only once a year. I just love the rainy season. I wish such weather would stay for the entire year," said, Maneet, a college student.
Meanwhile, the Wednesday rains did not hamper daily life. In the first spell of monsoon, the authorities were caught unprepared as the drainage system collapsed.
Heena, a working woman in a financial management firm, said the city was not prepared for rains. But now, people seek more showers.
Pleasant weather also improved the power supply on Wednesday as scheduled outages were absent. An official at the Powercom said, "We need more rain. As it will reduce the consumption of power and hence, complaints."
