LUDHIANA: Most will agree that one of the best things about summer is being able to relish mangoes. Nobody knows it like the Ludhianvis who are enjoying full course meals of exclusive mango recipes, right from the starters to desserts, at a mango festival going on in a hotel here.
Chefs in the city are offering 'mango chicken cream soup', 'mango iceberg salad', 'mango chicken curry' and 'mango ivory mousse'.

For residents like Raman Singh of Pakhowal Road there could not have been a better way to enjoy the season.
''This the first time we are hearing of such a festival. Everyone in my family is very fond of mangoes and so we are making the most of this festival,'' Raman said.
Manoj Kumar, a resident of Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, said he celebrated his son Rajan's birthday at the mango festival and everyone was very impressed by the concept.
Chef Sanjeev Sharma said the idea of organizing a mango festival came from the desire to include the season's flavours in food.
