Man arrested for buying, selling drugs

Ludhiana: Division 6 police station arrested Nitesh Sharma of New Shimlapuri and registered a case against him for allegedly purchasing sedatives and further selling them.

Cops were on a checkpost near ITI College when they searched Sharma’s car and recovered the medicines from him. Investigation officer Mohinderpal said the police recovered 3,460 tablets of different kinds and 10 bottles of 100ml Onerex. The IO added that the father of the accused was a doctor, and mother the principal of a school, and despite knowing their son was involved in such acts, they did not stop him.

He added that Nitesh was taken on one-day remand after coming to know he had been trading in these medicines from Delhi, and selling them in the town for the past six months. Subsequently, Nitesh was arrested and cops registered a case against him under Section 21-85-61 of the NDPS Act.
