Major MC reshuffle after new chief takes over

LUDHIANA: Immediately after taking charge, MC commissioner Rahul Tiwari reshuffled key areas of additional and joint commissioners. No changes have been made at the level of the zonal commissioners for now.
Additional commissioner Isha Kalia got the maximum departments, including public grievances and 10 branches. She is already dealing with the building branch, sale of property, city bus service, computerization and advertisement.
Joint commissioner Sumeet Jharangal will handle other duties except projects, B and R, O and M and waste management. These are the responsibilities of accountancy and horticulture. Tehbazari has been transferred to additional commissioner Devinder Singh. Earlier, the responsibility of horticulture and tehbazari was with Isha Kalia. Davinder Singh will also handle RTI, fire brigade and census.
The light branch has been transferred from joint commissioner PS Ghuman to zonal commissioner, zone C, AS Shekon. Ghumman will handle the remote sensing station and license branch.
Newly appointed secretary and PA to mayor Hartej Singh has been allotted the agenda branch, store purchase, library, pension sales and records. According to sources, changes in postings of other senior officials in the corporation are likely.
