Experts at the session credited the region's specific temperature profile and agro-climatic conditions for producing high-quality, disease-resistant crops.
Thanks to a rapidly expanding integrated cold supply chain, these seeds are now being shipped to major potato-growing regions across Gujarat and Karnataka, as well as various international markets. With the narrow window between the paddy harvest and Oct potato planting, farmers are turning to sustainable field preparation to avoid crop residue burning. The session featured demonstrations on in-situ incorporation (mixing rice stubble directly into the soil), mulching techniques (using residue to protect soil structure), and soil health (how these methods improve productivity while curbing environmental impact).Precision Mechanization and International TechAs labour shortages tighten, the transition from manual farming to "precision agriculture" has become essential.
