Ludhiana rural police arrests person with countrymade weapon

LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana rural police arrested a person after it recovered a pistol and cartridges from his possession.


The accused was identified as Harmandeep Singh of Mansooran village.

Cops said that AS Balwinder Singh along with his fellow employees raided the bus stand of Dhapai village where the accused was sitting on the platform built in the waiting hall.

They added that the accused started running away in a panic after seeing the police party and the ASI with the help of fellow colleagues caught him and asked his name, who identified himself as Harmandeep.

Police officials said that on searching him, they recovered .32 bore countrymade from the left pocket of his pant. They added that police opened the magazine of weapon chamber and found that there was no cartridges loaded in the weapon.

Cops said that from the right pocket of the pant worn by the accused, two live cartridges of .32 bore were found. They added that police registered a case under Arms act into the matter.
