Ludhiana district administration forms special team to curb illegal mining

LUDHIANA: With an aim to curb illegal mining in the district, the Ludhiana district administration has formed special four teams which seized six vehicles carrying illegal sand after laying a special checking on the last night.
The administration has recommended registration of FIR against the drivers at Machhiwara Police station after they failed to show any authorize documents of mining department to the team officials.
On the orders of deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (G)-cum- Nodal Officer Mining, Ludhiana Mr. Iqbal Singh Sandhu said that four special teams have been constituted to keep a check on the menace of illegal mining in the district.
The first team is being headed by SDM Khanna Sandeep Singh and includes Mr. Harsimrat Singh, DSP Samrala, Jaswant Singh, Senior Industrial Promotion Officer (SIPO) and Ashok Kumar, Excise and Taxation Inspector as its members. This team would supervise Samrala, Jodhwal, Mand Jhrondi, Dupana, Shergarh, Milkowal Road Majri, Dhulewal, Hasanpur, Isapur and Chakli Kaasb.
SDM Jagraon Ram Singh heads the second team along with DSP (D) Jagraon Sarbjeet Singh, Block Level Extension Officer (BLEO) Balwinder Singh and Shamsher Singh, Excise and Taxation Inspector who are members of the team.
This team would monitor the areas including Jagraon, Akkuwal, Gorsiya Khan Mohammad, Khurshaidpura, Hujran, Madhepur, Kanniya Husaini, Parjian Biharipur, Bagian, and Hiatewal.
The third team is headed by SDM Raikot Kannu Thind and Harkanwal Kaur, ACP Ludhiana, Shingara Singh, SIPO and Amit Kumar, Excise and Taxation Inspector are other members. This team would oversee Ludhiana East, Haadiwal road, Sasrali Colony, Kasabaad, Bhukhri Khurd, Dhannanasu, Sujatwala, Koom Kalan, Chuharwal, Mand Chonta, Bokkar Gujran and Baliyewal.
Gurdev Singh, Tehsildar Raikot heads the fourth team. Gurpreet Singh, ACP Ludhiana, Bhupinder Singh, SIPO and Pradeep Kumar, Excise and Taxation Inspector are the other members of this team.
This team would keep an eye on the following areas Ludhiana West, Talwandi Kalan, Noorpur Bet, Hambran, Ladowal, Kutbewal Araiyan and Khera Bet.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (G)-cum- Nodal Officer Mining, Ludhiana Iqbal Singh Sandhu said that these teams would hold special and permanent checkpoints round the clock in their respective areas and would submit the report daily.
