According to sources in the department, the survey which was conducted under instructions from DGGI’s Additional Director General Gurusharan Singh on Friday morning revealed that the group had collected receipts worth crores from the buyers and even charged them GST but did not deposit the tax to the government. However, by the end of the survey the group agreed to pay the amount and deposited close to Rs 80 lakh on the spot to the DGGI officials to evade strict action.

Sources have also revealed that several other real estate groups are on department’s radar after inputs of usurping the GST paid by clients to them on property purchase surfaced. However, when contacted Nitin Saini additional director of department refused to comment on the issue.
