LUDHIANA: A local court has sentenced a person to life imprisonment in a murder case. The court of Additional sessions Judge Dr.Monika Goyal also imposed a fine of Rs.1.10 Lakhs on the convict.

On 23 November 2020, Dakha police had booked the accused Sandeep Singh of Baddowal village in a murder case.

As per the prosecution, the complainant Gurdev Singh stated that on 21 November 2020 at about 8.00/8.15 P.M, his son Jashanpreet Singh, aged about 18 years, on receipt of a phone call on his mobile, left the house without disclosing anything to them, who did not return. The complainant and his family members searched for his son with their relatives and friends, but Jashanpreet Singh could not be traced. In the morning of 23 November 2020, dead body of his son Jashanpreet Singh, was found in the gutter on the backside of Victoria colony and he murdered by some unknown persons by hitting his head and face with the bricks. During investigation, accused Sandeep Singh and a Juvenile was nominated in the case and on 24 November, the accused were arrested. Later police presented challan against the accused in the court.

During trial of the case, the accused pleaded false implication.

Additional Public Prosecutor for the State Monika Gupta assisted by counsel for the complainant S M Abbas, argued that the prosecution witnesses have fully supported the prosecution version and Investigating Officer, has proved the documents prepared during investigation.
