LUDHIANA: The first convocation and alumni meet of Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology for Women, Civil Lines, was organized on its premises on Monday. The undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded degrees in their respective fields.
University toppers Palvi Rai (MCA), Shivangi Sachdeva (MBA), Ena Verma (BBA) and Kirandeep Kaur (BCA), were honoured for bringing laurels to their alma mater.

Some of the awardees were from the 2001-2004 batch. They were honoured after seven years of completion of their degree.
Rajneesh Arora, vice-chancellor, Punjab Technical University, was the guest of honour. He said the skills attained in improving societal cultures and values should be put into practice.
Dr Vijay Asdhir presented the report of the institute, highlighting the interest taken by the management in providing all possible help to the students and faculty in promoting the cause and courses of technical education among women.
Dean academics RK Maheshwary thanked the management for its unstinted support to the faculty in providing infrastructure for academic delivery.
The alumni meet saw a tearful reunion of old students and recollected memorable experiences and time spent during their stay at KIMT. They gave a message to their fellow colleagues that everyone should enjoy these days as it is a wonderful experience both academically and personally.
Monika, an old student, said, "I am feeling great as I am being honoured after seven years."
Ena Verma, another student said, "It feels good to be honoured and I am enjoying this."
"I have come to my alma mater after seven years and this convocation has reunited all of us," said Manpreet Kaur, an old student.
