LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Thursday claimed to have busted an inter-state arm supply gang by arresting three of it’s member after it recovered nine country made weapons with magazines from them. The arrested accused were identified as Palwinder Singh of Amritsar district, Ramandeep Singh of Dhaipai village in Jodhan of Ludhiana and Ravi of Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh.
Giving details, SSP Khanna Ashwini Ghotial said that on 8 November, police had arrested Palwinder and Ramandeep from a High Tech Check post near a Mall on GT road after it recovered two weapons from them. She added that police had registered a case under sections of Arms act at Khanna city police station against the accused persons.
SSP said that during investigation, it came to fore the accused used to buy weapons from Madhya Pradesh and after in-depth investigation, it was found that the accused Ramandeep had got the weapons from Ravi. She added that the accused Ravi was nominated in the case and on November 11, police arrested him from Khargone and recovered seven .32 bore pistols and magazines from his possession.
