Khanna police arrest man wanted by Delhi police in 10kg gold robbery

Wanted by Delhi police for robbing a Ludhiana based jeweler of 10 gold bricks worth Rs 6 crores in Delhi’s Rani Bagh area, the son of a Shiv Sena leader was arrested by Khanna police on Thursday. Identified as Rajan Baba alias Rajan Giri, the arrested accused is the son of a famous Shiv Sena leader Kashmir Giri.

LUDHIANA: Wanted by Delhi police for robbing a Ludhiana based jeweler of 10 gold bricks worth Rs 6 crores in Delhi’s Rani Bagh area, the son of a Shiv Sena leader was arrested by Khanna police on Thursday.
Identified as Rajan Baba alias Rajan Giri, the arrested accused is the son of a famous Shiv Sena leader Kashmir Giri. On July 10, 2023 Rajan and his three aides, impersonating as Central GST officers, had robbed the victim of the gold bricks near Rani Bagh of northwest Delhi.

Giri was declared a proclaimed offender in this case.
Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amneet Kondal said that they arrested the accused from Khanna following a tip-off. The Delhi police have been informed about the arrest.
The Delhi police had already arrested one accused Sushil Kumar Topi, a resident of Ishar Nagar of Sadar area of Ludhiana, who once worked with an advocate at Ludhiana district court complex, in this case. All 10 robbed gold plates were recovered on the basis of information provided by Topi.
On July 10,2023, Ludhiana based goldsmith, Ravinder Kumar had sent driver Balraj and employee Rajan Bawa to Delhi’s Karol Bagh area to get delivery of 10 gold plates, each weighing 1 KG which is worth Rs 6 crores approximately.
After picking gold plates, of total 10 KG, from there they were on the way back to Ludhiana. In the Rani Bagh area of Delhi, an i-20 car intercepted their way. Two men alighted from the car who introduced himself as Inspector Satvir Singh and Inspector Ravi Kumar from CGST.

Two more men were sitting in the car however due to tinted glasses the driver could not see them properly. The duo started alleging that the gold in their possession is without a bill.The accused took away the gold with them, asking Balraj and Rajan to produce its bill at the office of CGST.
Next Day when Ravinder CGST office in Delhi where he came to know that the persons who took away gold from his employees, were imposter.
