Khanna police arrest man carrying eighteen kilogram silver

Khanna police have arrested a person after they recovered eighteen kilograms of silver blocks from him at Alaud area on GT road near Khanna on Sunday morning. The accused was identified as Jeevan Kumar of Taroti in Nadaun of Himachal Pradesh.

LUDHIANA: Khanna police have arrested a person after they recovered eighteen kilograms of silver blocks from him at Alaud area on GT road near Khanna on Sunday morning. The accused was identified as Jeevan Kumar of Taroti in Nadaun of Himachal Pradesh.
Police said that a team of Sadar Khanna police was checking suspicious persons and vehicles on Saturday night near a popular mall at Alaud on GT road in Khanna.

It added that during checking, police stopped a roadways bus coming from Delhi and going to Jalandhar.
Cops said that during checking, police checked the bag of the accused and found eighteen kilograms silver in it. They added that even as the cops asked him to show the bill or other document related to the ownership of the same, he couldn’t do so after which he was arrested.
Police said that the sales tax department has been informed and it will take further action into the matter.
