Khalsa girls lift inter-college softball trophy

CIVIL LINES: Girls softball team of Khalsa College of Women, Civil Lines, proved they are the best by clinching the inter-college softball trophy in the inter-college tournament of Panjab University that concluded in their college ground on Friday. In the finals, they beat Ramgarhia College with a score of 9-3. After this win, the squad is concentrating on other tournaments.
Veerpal Kaur, Daljeet Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Amanjeet Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Sukhpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur, Raj Rani Rajjo, Ruby Bala, Amandeep Kaur, Satinder Kaur, Iqbal Kaur, Mandeep Kaur and Simarjeet Kaur were part of the winning team. Nine of them have been selected for the inter-university softball contest, which would be organized soon. The final selected team would play in the All India Inter-university Softball competition.
Member of the winning team, Sandeep Kaur said she is delighted with the success of the team. She said it was a knock-out competition. Her dream is that like other games, softball should flourish in the country as well as states.
Captain of the team and international softball player, Diljeet Kaur said girls in the team were very energetic and displayed good coordination. She said they dominated the tournament since beginning.
