Jail officials recover 24 mobile phones

Ludhiana: Ludhiana jail authorities recovered 24 mobile phones and a charger in three separate cases, following which division number 7 police lodged three FIRs. Satnam Singh, assistant jail superintendent said that during special checking, jail staff recovered seven mobiles from four inmates; Jagdev Singh, Ranjit Singh, Varun Tayal and Chetan Singh. A complaint was sent to the police, after which a case was registered against all the four accused. In the second case, jail authorities recovered three mobiles from four inmates Sahil Sharma, Sohail Khan, Charanjit Singh and Sachin Kumar Sharma. In the third case, jail security recovered 14 mobiles and a charger found abandoned in the barracks. Sources said that the inmates abandoned their mobile phones when jail officials started checking. tnn
