BARNALA: Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has dropped clear hints of Trident Group chairman Rajinder Gupta plunging in the political arena.
Time and again Sukhbir asked Rajinder Gupta to supervise all the development works to be initiated for the rapid development of this area. He asked Gupta to make plans and never shy away in spending the money for executing the plans.

Though Sukhbir stopped short of naming him as candidate for any future election but hinted of his playing a vital role in the SAD.
Senior SAD leader and former Union minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia also asked Gupta to come to fore and play a proactive role. Only a couple of days ago Sukhbir had visited the Trident complex to inaugurate the 840 crore textile park and had praised Rajinder Gupta for the investment in the state and ensuring employment opportunities for unemployed.
Trident group has its terry towel, yarn, paper manufacturing units at Barnala in Punjab and Budni in Madhya Pradesh. Trident is also the fifth biggest manufacturer terry towel manufacturer in the world.
Sukhbir Badal apart from eulogizing Rajinder Gupta also hinted of fielding SAD secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, who is also Rajya sabha member, from Sangrur parliamentary constituency to contest the upcoming parliament election.
