House robbed; 50k cash, gold, diamond jewellery, CCTVs stolen

Ludhiana: Dugri police on Saturday lodged an FIR against unidentified accused for barging into a house and executing a theft. The house was locked when the accused reportedly barged into it and decamped with cash, gold and diamond jewellery.An FIR has been lodged on the complaint of Nitin Arora (45) of Nitesh Vihar at Dhandra Road.Arora said he was at work, and his wife and son had gone to visit her parents’ house; they had locked the house. When she returned home, she found the house ransacked and valuables stolen. The accused had broke open the almirahs and stolen Rs 50,000 cash, and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, including — a diamond necklace, a diamond mangalsutra, seven women’s gold rings, three gold chains, two gold necklaces, two gold bangles, a men’s gold ring, a men’s gold bracelet, and a women’s gold bracelet. Besides, CCTVs were also installed inside the house, which the robbers took away along with the DVR.Assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) Pratap Singh, who is investigating the case, said an FIR under sections 454 (lurking house trespass) and 380 (theft) of the IPC has been lodged against the unidentified accused.
