LUDHIANA: About 25 young trainees of Baba Isher Singh Public School from different classes VII to XI took part in summer hockey camp. The camp that started from June 1 concluded on June 25 taught children fundamentals of hockey, training, speed work outs, endurance and match practices. The highlight of camp was a regular visit of senior player of the school, who have played at district and state level.
The children were told about the latest trends introduced by hockey federation while playing on astro turf, the importance of physical fitness proper rest, diet and conditioning.
On the final day, District Hockey Association secretary Ajay Pal Singh who is also president of PAU Sports Club came as chief guest and blessed young trainees with his knowledge and experience.
The highlight of closing ceremony was that players were rewarded. Those who got prizes include ' Sumit Nagi of Class X and Avtar Singh of Class XI. The principal and management board also blessed young trainees for their hard work and dedication.
