Hi-tech gang hacked GPS & opened central locking of cars
Ludhiana: Ludhiana police busted a gang of vehicle thieves, with the arrest of two accused, who used to hack the GPS installed in the car and easily open the central locking of the cars using some software and a device. The police have seized five stolen cars — Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Verna and two Maruti Suzuki Swift — from the gang. Two of the recovered cars were stolen from Ludhiana, while the other three are from Delhi. The police said the gang was operated by two Delhi-based miscreants Deepu and Raja Khan who are yet to be arrested. Ludhiana’s Model Town police arrested two members of the gang, identified as Sumit Singh of Guru Nanak Nagar and Akhil Sabharwal of Ghati Mohalla.Ludhiana police commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said Model Town police was probing a case of a car theft. Following the trails, police nabbed Sumit with a car. During interrogation, the police recovered two more stolen cars from his possession. Further, on the information provided by Sumit, police also arrested his accomplice Akhil and recovered two stolen cars from his possession. The accused confessed that the kingpin of the gang are Raja Khan and Deepu, who have now been nominated in the case. The top cop said, “The Delhi-based accused had provided a specific device to the gang which helped hacking GPS system and unlocking the car without getting its siren on. The advanced device used to show the location of the car of the same place where the owner had parked it last. The device is in possession of Delhi men, who are yet to be arrested. The police solved the case with the help of Hyundai company’s support.”Inspector Gurshinder Kaur, SHO, Model Town police station, said Ludhiana-based Sumit is into trading of clothes for which he often visited Delhi. There, he came in touch with Raja Khan and Deepu who too are into the trading of clothes. To earn easy money, the Delhi-based accused started vehicle thefts and involved Sumit in it. Further, Sumit involved his friend Akhil too in the crime. The accused would steal cars parked outside houses and markets. Akhil is already facing trial in three cases — murder bid and two cases of drug peddling. He is a BTech graduate.

Installing CCTV cameras used to be optional, but now it's essential for loved ones' safety. I found an innovative solution with MoGo CCTV App, which turned my old smartphone into a portable CCTV camera for free. It's great to support an Indian startup that offers a reliable alternative to Chinese surveillance systems. Highly recommended!Read allPost comment
