Helpline fails to ring in relief
LUDHIANA: City students have nowhere to call in case they want to file a ragging complaint. Though the telephone number of deputy commissioner Rahul Tiwari's residence was announced as ragging helpline number by general assistant to DC Areena Duggal, the students do not get a proper response when they call that number. Duggal had earlier stated, "If anybody wants to complain against a ragging incident, they can call on the DC's residence No 2404055.

This is a 24-hour facility for the help of students."
However, the students face disappointment when they call on the number. Sahil, a student of Shri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, said, "I got to know about the helpline number from one of my friends. We both called on that number, but were told to call 100 number to file any complaint." On the other hand, DC Rahul Tiwari has denied that his residential number is also ragging helpline number. He said, "It is not possible to man a residential line 24X7 as is required in case of a helpline."
