COLLEGE ROAD: Typically businessman Atin Jain's day starts early and ends late. Owner of a knitting business, the 40-year-old has many decisions to make, deals to clinch and administrative works to handle. But, as busy as he may be, Atin likes to take some time off and indulge in his secret passion of playing the guitar. On weekdays, whenever he is able to manage it, he likes to pick up the instrument in the evening and strum it for a while, making melodious notes.
Sundays, however, are dedicated to music. Pampering himself a bit, Atin has now bought an amplifier and a musical effect unit for a complete musical delight.
"I was passionate about music and guitar since childhood. I am very fond of Bollywood numbers, gazhals and Sufi music. After listening to the songs I like to practice them on my guitar,'' he said.
Suddenly nostalgic about his younger days, Atin said when he was in college there used to be a group of friends who used to play guitars and sing together, but now they have all got scattered and it is difficult to catch up. "It was not possible for me to pursue music professionally but I could not leave it either so I have made an effort to keep it alive as a hobby. I have some friends now who love music too so sometimes we organize musical parties,'' he said. Tuning his guitar, Atin shared that his wife
Pooja is not a music lover but listens carefully whenever he plays.
Agreeing, Pooja said, "I am not very fond of music but I like to hear what he plays for me. Atin becomes the centre of attraction at all our parties and I feel very proud.'' She added that unlike her husband, their 12-year-old son Abhin is more interested in tennis and wants to make it big in the sport. "Father and son remain busy in their own worlds and my job is to support both of them,'' she said.
