LUDHIANA: Family of the
acid attack victim, who died in Mumbai on Friday, along with members of Harpreet Kaur
acid attack action committee, met Ludhiana police commissioner and demanded a swift investigation which could ensure capital punishment to the accused.
"We are thankful for the action that has been taken till date, but now we have requested the police to produce the challan in court at the earliest and that they should also request the court for a speedy trial and capital punishment to the accused," said Surinder Singh, victim's uncle from Barnala.
Makhan Singh Prabhakar, a member of the committee and a next door neighbour of the victim, also said that they would do whatever is required to nail down the accused and get justice for Harpreet Kaur.
Commissioner Nirmal Singh Dhillon said police have not left any stone unturned to make investigation foolproof.
