LUDHIANA: While continuing with their ongoing drive against the illegal colonies the officials of
Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority
(
GLADA
) conducted a demolition drive and razed 6 illegal colonies located in
Sahnewal
and
Ramgarh
on Wednesday. Out of these six, five colonies were in Sahnewal and one in Ramgarh. The officials claimed that they will continue with their demolition drives in and around city in the coming days as well.

Harpreet Sekhon
said that they have started a drive against the illegal colonies especially the colonies which are being developed recently. He said that a new policy for the regularization of illegal colonies is on the cards but till then they have to keep check on the rise in number of illegal colonies.
Meanwhile the chief administrator of GLADA PS Gill said that they are not only demolishing the illegal colonies but are also getting FIR registered against the developers. He said that there will be more serious actions against the developers in case they will not mend their ways and would develop the illegal colonies.
However GLADA has already warned the city residents for not investing money in these colonies because there is complete ban on registry of properties in these illegal colonies without NOC from GLADA.
