Food for 1,000 to celebrate Garvit, Pulkit's birthdays

HAIBOWAL: Tandon family of Haibowal organized a kirtan and served food to more than 1,000 people on Tuesday to share the joy of the birthdays of their kids Garvit and Pulkit. They organized the community food in Mahabali Sankat Mochan Shri Hanuman Mandir at Joshi Nagar.
Businessman Varun Tandon said it was his son Garvit's first birthday so instead of organizing a party they wanted to express gratitude to God by feeding the hungry.He added that his nephew Pulkit's birthday was a day before so they celebrated both occasions together. "After the kirtan the community food was served till about midnight,'' he said.
His father Pradeep Tandon appreciated his sons and said he is proud that they chose to remember God and the needy in the midst of their celebrations.
