Five booked for selling land using fake owner

LUDHIANA: NRI police have booked five people for selling land belonging to an NRI without his knowledge by presenting a fake person in his place.
The accused have been identified as Mahinder Singh of village Shahzad, Kulwant Singh of Mansooran, Jaswinder Singh of Jodhan, Sham Sunder, fake Ajeet Singh.
In his police complaint, Manjinder Singh of Narangwal village said his uncle Ajeet Singh, who lives in Canada, has a piece of land at Pasi Nagar in Phullanwal village for which the power of attorney is in his name.He added that the accused used a fake person and sold the land to someone and encroached on his property.
NRI police station has registered a case against the accused under relevant sections and is probing the matter.
