Financier, wife shot dead in robbery bid at Dugri

LUDHIANA: A day after a businessman killed his wife and son before shooting himself at Model Town Extension, Ludhiana witnessed another horrific crime on Friday.
A Dugri-based financier and his wife were shot dead by criminals who had come to rob the couple at their residence in Dugri on Friday afternoon.
The victims -- Sunil Gupta, 60, and his wife Neelam Gupta, 55 -- lived in the MIG flats in Dugri phase-II.
One of the robbers was caught by residents after he fractured his leg while jumping from first floor in a bid to escape.
He was identified as Sandeep Kumar. His accomplice, identified as Raju Tiwari, was arrested in the evening.
