Fake cop nabbed over extortion bid

Ludhiana: Division number 2 police arrested a fake cop from Malerkotla who had called up a city-based man and tried to extort money.
Police seized one mobile phone, 5 SIM cards and one memory card from the accused, Sukhchain Singh. ADCP-1 Rupinder Kaur Sra said Mohammad Naved had complained saying that his worker Mohammad Mujahid received a call from a man who posed as a CIA inspector claiming that the police had arrested a man with heroin who was in contact touch with Mujahid.The caller sought Rs 10,000 from him, failing which he will implicate him in the case. tnn
