According to Rajkumar Singla, president of Fasteners Supplier Association, Ludhiana, “It is a very tough for small businessmen to comply with the system of e-way bill generation. It requires equipment like computer and printer and at the same time only tech savy persons can generate e-way bill. It’s not possible for thousands of businessmen of Ludhiana to operate this system as they are hardly computer literate. It will be in the best interest of the industry and trade if e-way bill applicability on firms is set up in accordance with their turnover and those having annual turnover of up to Rs 5 crore should be exempted from this requirement.”

According to Ghanshyam Gupta, a cycle parts trader, “The e-way billing system implemented under GST is very complicated for all categories of businessmen to comply with. The small and micro industry is the worst affected and government should take serious note of this issue.”

According to Rajesh Jain , a garment manufacturer , “E-way bill has already increased our work load and hiked cost of doing business as well. The government should understand that this system has badly failed as even for a small mistake businessmen get penalized very heavily.”
