LUDHIANA: Staying fit and beautiful at 40 may seem like a tough ride up the hill for most women. But for seven home-makers in BRS Nagar it is like enjoying a dance.
The members of this group ' Nishu Kaur, Aanchal Rani, Jyoti, Bobby Jain, Anju Jain, Shweta and Saroj Mittal ' have been meeting for four years at a private dance institute. After finishing their household chores and commitments, the women gather at 4.30pm and enjoy matching Bollywood beats.
They start with 15 minutes of aerobics and then move on to learning several forms of dances.
Generally, the women like Bollywood numbers and Punjabi hits and while they have a jolly good time they also shed some flab.
''I rarely miss our dance classes. It has given wings to our imagination and has increased our confidence level. It's the best part of my day,'' said Anju. Shweta said, ''After returning from the dance class I am usually more active. My problem of insomnia has also drastically cured.''
The groups bond has grown over the last four years of dancing together and they discuss all kinds of things from families to latest trends in clothes and jewellery or tasty recipes.
