LUDHIANA: Dr Jeyaraj D Pandian, professor and head of the department of Neurology, CMC has been conferred with the Fellow of Royal College of Physicians award. Dr Pandian received the award at a ceremony held at the Royal College of Physicians in London on July 26. The 498-year-old college is the oldest in the world.
The fellowship has been conferred on him for his contribution in the field of stroke at national and international levels.
Dr Pandian developed the model stroke unit care which is applicable to low and middle income countries. He has been involved with Word Stroke Organization (WSO), World Health Organization (WHO) and WHO India in drafting the model of stroke care in developing countries, including India. He is co-chair of the 10th World Stroke Congress to be held in Hyderabad from October 26 to October 29, 2016. tnn
