LUDHIANA: The state-level Independence Day celebrations will be organised at
More than 2,000 students from different schools of the city will participate in these celebrations and will present cultural items.
Chairing a meeting to review the preparations of Independence Day celebrations, deputy commissioner Pardeep Kumar Agrawal said, “The rehearsals for I-Day celebrations had been going on at Guru Nanak Stadium since August 8. The full and final dress rehearsal would be held on August 13.”
“The students would not only present cultural items, but will also showcase welfare schemes initiated by the Punjab government. The participating students will display placards and other material showing information related to the welfare schemes,” he said.
The deputy commissioner also appealed to all government officials to work hard to make the state-level Independence Day celebrations successful. He also said that the attendance of all government officials would be compulsory on August 15 and the review meeting regarding the same would be held on August 13.
