City residents gather to pray for Trident founder’s mother

Times News Network
Ludhiana: Heartfelt tributes poured in for late Maya Devi, mother of Trident Group founder Rajinder Gupta during a prayer meet organised at a city resort on Sunday. Maya Devi had been unwell for some time and was being treated at CMC Ludhiana, where she breathed her last on July 25 at the age of 89. People from a cross section of society, including industrialists, bureaucrats, police officers, judiciary officers, academicians, religious, social and political leaders, sportspersons and company employees participated in the prayer meeting to bid farewell to the departed soul.
Recalling his mother, Rajinder Gupta referred to her as an inspiration who firmly believed that doing good was a way of life. “She inculcated simple and sincere values in her children that helped them rise from a humble background, attain success and earn livelihood not just for themselves but for thousands of families in times to come,” said Gupta. He added that Trident’s Takshashila programme was based on her teachings that encouraged a unique way of thinking, a noble way of living and a way of tapping unlimited opportunities. The bereaved family also received condolences on mail from representatives of political parties, retired judges, judicial officers, vice-chancellors of universities, central government ministers etc.
