City lad awarded for promoting yoga

Ludhiana: Yog India Foundation Trust (YIFB) and Vidhyuta Trust of Humanity came forward to felicitate the efforts of people of Punjab in the field of environment, naturopathy, ayurveda and yoga.

Sanjeev Tyagi from Everest Yoga Institute was awarded and felicitated for his outstanding contribution in promoting yoga in Punjab.

Yogi Naresh Kumar, president, YIFB; Ram Kumar, general secretary, YIFB and Preeti Goyal, founder, Vidhyuta Trust of Humanity, marked their presence during the award ceremony. Rajesh Kalia, mayor, Chandigarh, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Sanjeev Tyagi said: “Yoga will enable our children to develop a balanced body and mind.”

He said the youth of Punjab could safeguard itself from drugs and obesity through yoga.

“Yoga is a science of mind, body and soul which if practiced regularly enables us to develop a positive attitude, good physical health and emotional well-being,” he said.
