Chided for skipping classes, student leads attack on tutor in Ludhiana; family now in police books.

Ludhiana: A routine reprimand over a student's skipping class turned into a violent family affair in Rishi Nagar, after a Class-IX student allegedly led a mob of relatives to assault his tuition teacher.The 39-year-old educator was targeted at her learning centre after she spotted the boy roaming a local market during his scheduled lessons, even though his parents had claimed he was too unwell to attend. The teacher, who operates the tuition centre alongside her husband and sister, has told police the trouble began when the juvenile student stopped attending classes. After his mother informed the teacher that he was ill, the educator later spotted the boy in a nearby market.
the complainant claims she scolded the student for his absence and urged him to focus on his upcoming examinations. Rather than returning to his studies, the student allegedly returned to the centre minutes later accompanied by his family and an associate. Police reports state the group barged into the cente and began hurling verbal abuses at the teacher. The situation escalated rapidly into a physical altercation.The group thrashed the teacher, and when her husband and sister attempted to intervene and rescue her, they were also assaulted. Police have registered a case against the student, his father Aman Dhir, his mother Ritika Dhir, his brother, his sister, and an associate identified as Gaurav Jain. ASI Satnam Singh of the PAU police station has confirmed that a case has been registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 333 (house trespass), 79 (3) (acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation).While the primary accused is a juvenile, the investigation remains ongoing. No arrests had been made at the time of reporting.Safety protocolEducational authorities and local police recommend some protocols to prevent disputes between educators and parents. Teachers should document student absences and communicate only through official channels or parent-teacher meetings rather than public confrontations.
