CAA protest: Will never accept this ‘black law’, says prominent Muslims of city
Ludhiana: A large number of people protested against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), terming it as ‘black law’, outside Baba Chand Shah mosque at Focal point. The protest was led by Naib Shahi Imam Maulana Muhammad Usman Ludhianvi. Mualana Jahngir Mualana Sabir Ali, Suraj Ansari and Mohammad Mustakim were present also on the occasion.
Naib Shahi Imam said the ‘black law’ is against the constitution of the country.

He also said the central government is playing dirty politics by dividing people of the country on the basis of their religion. He further added that the people who frightened 130 crore people by presenting CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Parliament are now not even by standing by their words.
Maulana Usman said, “We are in favour of giving citizenship to refugees, but any law based on religion will never be accepted.” He further added that all Indians are united and raising their voice against this ‘black law.Usman also said the fact that the central government is forced to go door-to-door to convince people about CAA shows that the act was a failure.
The royal Imam of Punjab, Maulana Habib Ur Rehman Sahni Ludhianvi, along with the Imam Sahib and muslim leaders of various mosques of the city, announced that 1,000 women will be protesting and raising their voice against CAB on January 19 from 1pm to 4pm outside Jama Masjid, Ludhiana. Shahi Imam said the constitution of the country clearly states that the government always has to be ‘secular.’ He said by making this law, the basic principles of the Constitution have been violated.
Shahi Imam further added, “The people of this country will never accept this ‘black law’ at any cost. The central government is writing black history with black law using the force against their own countrymen with brutal force.”
