Bizmen meet PSPCL chief, apprise him of area specific issues

Ludhiana: City-based businessmen held a marathon meeting with the chief engineer of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Daljit Inderpal Grewal, at a factory near Cheema Chowk on Wednesday.

Businessmen from several organisations, including the Moti Nagar United Factory Association (MNFA) and Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers’ Association, were also present in the meeting.

Giving information about the meeting, Bhushan Abbi, president of the MNFA, said: “City-based businessmen have hundreds of issues related to the PSPCL. The most crucial ones include high rates of power, erratic power supply in Industrial Areas and slow redressal of complaints. Every business association present in the meeting apprised area-specific problems to the chief engineer who gave a patient hearing to everyone. We are happy that in addition to taking note of every issue, the chief engineer assured us of time-bound solution.”

Ashwani Sharma, district Congress president, was alsao present in this meeting. Speaking to businessmen, he said: “I want to assure businessmen that even a smallest problem of the business community will be sorted out at the earliest by the Punjab government. In the 2.5 years of our tenure, we have already proved that the industry has progressed in these years than in the past 10 years of misrule of Akali government. The same will continue till the last day of our government.”

Chief engineer Grewal said: “The relation between the PSPCL and businessmen is strong and is growing stronger day-by-day. Businessmen are welcome to contact me anytime for their problems and suggestions. I also felt good after an interaction with them today and I promise them that all their issues will be sorted out by the PSPCL at the earliest.”

Other businessmen present on the occasion included Kulwant Singh, Jaswinder Thukral, K K Garg and Swinder Singh Hunjan.
